Support the Hospital

The mission of Women’s Health Circle (WHC) is to empower the health of the community through education, conversation, and connection. These community members take pride in supporting Virginia Hospital Center and play a pivotal role in the raising awareness of the overall health of the community by active promotion, dialogue on relevant women’s health topics, and in-depth conversations circling around highly targeted issues. They accomplish this mission by hosting community events that are open to the public, such as the recent Community Forum on the Opioid Epidemic.

2018 Funding Priorities

Each year, WHC selects new fundraising priorities that provide women with knowledge about keeping themselves and their families happy and healthy. In 2018, WHC is raising funds to support Virginia Hospital Center’s new Women’s Imaging Center. VHC is embarking on a transformation project over the next few years to include a new Women’s Imaging suite that will continue to provide exceptional care with the latest in technologies and practices.

WHC Membership

The WHC is composed of individuals who commit a minimum of $5,000 in support of its goals and priorities. Only participants with sustained giving at this level are invited to regular salon-style gatherings, which are designed to be distinctive small-scale encounters, many times featuring invited experts from Virginia Hospital Center's medical staff.

Interested individuals wishing to support and promote the goals of the WHC, whether philanthropically or by attendance at public events, are encouraged to do so.  Such individuals will be kept informed on new programs, initiatives and activities focused on women’s health issues. They will also be engaged periodically through volunteer opportunities and perspective gathering.

The WHC is led by co-chairs who will twice a year convene a meeting of the membership to plan for future initiatives and explore potential topics for programming.  Such convenings will also provide a fun and meaningful opportunity for recognizing and celebrating of the impact WHC has on VHC and the community.

The Women’s Health Circle hosts a several events each year that allow women to learn about women’s and family health topics in new and fun ways. These events are open to all women who are interested in learning about how to be their best and healthiest selves. Whether it’s a lesson on skin care while getting a makeover or learning about bone health during a workout, each event encourages women to learn and comfortably ask questions from leading physicians about health topics that may closely relate to themselves or their family and friends.
