The connection and relationships I develop with my patients is what I love most about my work. I am particularly passionate about helping patients dealing with pelvic pain, endometriosis, menstrual issues, and uterine fibroids, which as you can imagine, can be stressful for any woman. For patients who benefit from surgery, I specialize in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, which results in fewer complications, a shorter recovery time and enhanced quality of life.

My passion for healthcare began during my undergraduate studies in Psychology and Sociology. This laid the groundwork for understanding how socialization plays an integral role in providing and receiving healthcare, as well as the need for compassion in counseling and education. These are the foundation for my care philosophy here at Virginia Hospital Center.

I am passionate about providing inclusive services and safe care to everyone. As a member of the LGBTQ community, I know that invisibility and discrimination is bad for our health. I do what I can as a doctor to see patients as they are.

My original field of study was computer engineering, but I knew early on that I wanted more human connection, working directly with people. What I love most about my work with VHC is taking care of my patients through their lifespan - from birth control to marriage, trying to get pregnant, pregnancy, through menopause and beyond. It’s a special relationship that we get to form with our patients.

After running my own practice for a number of years, I now enjoy being able to focus solely on my patients versus the operations of the business. What I love most about VHC is the support provided among our team, which translates to highly coordinated care for our patients. We are a community here, and that is something that is felt by everyone walking through our doors. *Dr. Williams is fluent in English, Spanish, and Swahili.

My favorite thing about my work is being a part of the community that I take care of. I live one mile from the Hospital, and I love seeing my patients at the grocery store and playground. I also delivered my own child here, so it is very near and dear to me. I can attest to VHC being a wonderful place to have a baby!
