Virginia Hospital Center Recognized for 14 Consecutive Straight ‘A’s’ In The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Arlington, VA: May 15, 2019 – Virginia Hospital Center, for the 14th consecutive time, achieved an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. Virginia Hospital Center is one of 56 hospitals with Straight A grades since Fall 2012 nationally and one of 10 in Virginia. The Hospital was named a Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital in 2018.

The Safety Grade assigns letter grades of ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ and ‘F’ to hospitals across the country based on their performance in preventing medical errors, infections and other harms. Developed under the guidance of a national Expert Panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 28 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to more than 2,600 U.S. acute-care hospitals twice per year.
