Arlington, VA: September 19, 2019 – Virginia Hospital Center (VHC), a community-based hospital providing medical services to the Washington, DC metropolitan area for 75 years, announced that it is among the country’s Most Wired Hospitals – the annual list of leaders in the healthcare IT field who deploy technology to drive efficiencies and improve the patient experience. The Most Wired survey is conducted each year by the American Hospital Association and Health & Hospitals Network. It measures the level of IT adoption in hospitals and health systems across the United States.
“Virginia Hospital Center is proud to be among the nation’s top hospitals for our innovation in the healthcare IT field,” said James B. Cole, President & CEO. “Congratulations go to Michael Mistretta, Vice President and Chief Information Officer, the IT team and everyone who supports their efforts.”
Virginia Hospital Center received special recognition by CHIME HealthCare because of its technology and strategy implementation that helped analyze data to achieve meaningful clinical and efficiency outcomes. The Hospital’s use of telehealth gave patients greater access and transparency to doctors and personal medical information remotely.
The award is based on Virginia Hospital Center’s achievements in the areas of infrastructure, business processes, clinical quality and safety, and clinical integration. The Hospital’s use of big-data analytics, risk stratification and patient care strategies result in more individualized, effective, efficient and accessible care.
