Virginia Hospital Center is proud to have accreditation from the American College of Radiology, (ACR). The ACR is the largest and oldest imaging accrediting body in the U.S. and a professional organization of 34,000 physicians. To achieve the ACR Gold Standard of Accreditation, our facility’s personnel qualifications, equipment requirements, quality assurance, and quality control procedures have gone through a rigorous review process and have met specific qualifications. It’s important for patients to know that every aspect of the ACR accreditation process is overseen by board-certified, expert radiologists and medical physicists in advanced diagnostic imaging.

Radiology & Medical Imaging Center at Virginia Hospital Center provides the highest quality diagnostic and interventional radiology services to our patients and referring physicians in a compassionate and professional environment. To perform 170,000 diagnostic imaging services and interventional radiology a year, we integrated the most advanced medical imaging technology.

Diagnostic Services

Radiology & Medical Imaging Center provides diagnostic imaging services in radiography, fluoroscopy, bone densitometry (DEXA Scans), computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging. Our physicians are trained in the latest techniques including MR & CT urography, CT enterography, cardiac MR & CT, dynamic pelvic floor MRI, mammography & 3D mammography, breast ultrasound & MRI, ultrasound (US), orthopaedic & sports related MR imaging, neurologic MR & CT, as well as nuclear medicine — PET/CT and SPECT/CT.

Interventional Procedures

We also provide a wide array of interventional radiology services including advanced vein vare including venous sclerotherapy, diagnostic angiography, endovascular stent graft repair of thoracic, abdominal & pelvic aneurysms, endovascular stent graft repair of aneurysms, transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, uterine artery embolization, tubal cannulization (for fertility treatment), kyphoplasty, interventional oncology (including chemoembolization, RF ablation), and thyroid biopsies.

Virginia Hospital Center cannot guarantee that your insurance provider will cover a specific procedure. If you have questions about insurance coverage, please contact your insurance company or call a Radiology Scheduling Center to verify.

Although the Hospital participates with most health insurance plans, there may be certain services that your insurance plan may require you to receive elsewhere, except in an emergency, i.e., outpatient laboratory, radiology, physical therapy, EKG/EEG, and pre-op testing. Additionally, Hospital based physicians, i.e., anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology, neonatology, etc., providing services may not be participating with your health plan. Please contact your plan to check the provider's status, your benefits and for the pre-certification requirements of your health plan.

    Monday – Friday, 7:00 am–8:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm

  • Interventional Department Monday:
    Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, *on call all other times

  • MRI Department:
    Monday – Friday, 6:00 am–11:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am–11:00 pm

  • Ultrasound Department:
    Monday – Sunday, 24 hours/day

  • Nuclear Medicine Department:
    Monday – Friday, 7:00 am–6:30 pm, *on call all other times

  • CT Scan Department:
    Monday – Friday, 8:00 am–7:00 pm

  • Diagnostic Imaging:
    Monday – Friday, 7:00 am–8:00 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 7:00 am–5:00 pm

  • Women’s Imaging:
    Monday – Friday, 7:00 am–4:30 pm; Saturday & Sunday, 8:00 am–2:00 pm
Financial Assistance

Financial Assistance may be an option for patients with little or no income. These funds are available for Hospital services only. If you feel you may qualify for this assistance, please contact the Patient Financial Services Department
