C. Steeve David, MD, is a member of the American College of Surgeons and is a Diplomate of The American Board of Surgery. He is a board-certified in General and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. David received his undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Maryland. He completed his General Surgery residency at St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore and went on to pursue a fellowship in Advanced Laparoscopic, Bariatric and Robotic Surgery at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.
Dr. David is the Medical Director of the Heartburn Center at Virginia Hospital Center and the member of the Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group – Surgical Specialists. He has a special interest in minimally invasive laparoscopic (key hole incision) surgery, robotic surgery for Bariatric (Weight Loss Surgery) and broad general gastro-intestinal surgery.
His Weight Loss Surgery practice focuses on a wide variety of surgeries including:
- Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy
- Laparoscopic Roux-En-Y Gastric Bypass
- Laparoscopic Adjustable Gastric Band
- Biliopancreatic Diversion with Duodenal Switch
- Revisional Bariatric Surgery
- FDA-approved the Orbera Intragastric Balloon (non-surgical, endoscopic weight loss option).
His General Surgery practice includes:
- antireflux surgery
- non-surgical, endoscopic antireflux Stretta procedure
- minimally invasive abdominal wall hernia repairs
- cutting edge robotic assisted inguinal, ventral and incisional hernia surgery (one of few surgeons in the DC area)
Dr. David approaches patients care with open communication, saying, “I like to inspire comfort as well as confidence in the patient regarding his or her treatment plan. The best course of action is determined based on a thorough discussion of all therapeutic options with each patient.”
He is involved with training of medical students and surgical residents at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Davis lives in the DC metropolitan area for the past 19 years. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, playing the piano and traveling.
