Teaming Up to Takedown
Breast Cancer
    • During the month of October, the Sheriff's Office partnered with the Foundation to takedown breast cancer as a way to honor two of their own breast cancer survivors and to ensure early breast cancer detection resources are available to everyone in our community. Thank you so everyone who supported this incredible campaign!

Beards with a Badge

The Arlington County Sheriff's Office is partnering with Virginia Hospital Center Foundation during the months of November and December for their 2018 Beards with a Badge campaign. Participants are encouraged to donate $50 to partake in Beards with a Badge, and all funds raised through this campaign will support prostate cancer patients served by the Virginia Hospital Center Radiation Oncology CyberKnife® Treatment. Although a number of effective treatment options exist and the best option for each patient served by Virginia Hospital Center is tailored to their specific needs, CyberKnife® is often used to treat prostate cancer because of its non-invasive, targeted capabilities for even the most complex cases.

Lieutenant Juan Gelabert and Deputy Joe Van Hettinga recently appeared on WJLA’s Good Morning Washington to talk more about Beards with a Badge. Click below to view the segment!

Special thank you to Koons Arlington Toyota for generously matching $3,000 of the Beards for Badge campaign,
and to all who have supported this effort.
