Arlington, VA (July 13, 2017) – Once again, Virginia Hospital Center is among the country’s Most Wired Hospitals – the annual list of leaders in the healthcare IT field who deploy technology to drive efficiencies and improve the patient experience. The Most Wired survey is conducted each year by the American Hospital Association and Health & Hospitals Network. It measures the level of IT adoption in hospitals and health systems across the United States.

“Virginia Hospital Center is proud to be recognized among the nation’s top hospitals for the progressive and innovative use of technology to better serve our community,” says James B. Cole, President and CEO. “It reflects the commitment of our IT team to adopt ever-advancing technologies to improve quality throughout the Hospital, as well as increase access to important health information for patients and families.”

The 2017 Most Wired Survey and Benchmarking Study focused on cyber security and how to use smart technologies to improve patient safety, as well as the use of clinical and financial analytics to improve outcomes and value-based care.

The award is based on Virginia Hospital Center’s achievements in the areas of infrastructure, business processes, clinical quality and safety, and clinical integration. The Hospital’s use of big-data analytics, risk stratification and patient care strategies results in more individualized, effective, efficient and accessible care.
