Arlington, VA (June 7, 2016) – The Virginia Hospital Center Department of Surgery was dedicated and renamed as The J. Della Ratta Family Center for Surgery at a private ceremony on June 2, 2016. The dedication and naming ceremony honors Joseph Della Ratta, founder and owner of DRI CMC Properties, a Maryland-based company specializing in developing and operating commercial properties in the DC Metro Area and South Florida, as well as his family for their generosity in helping to fund the expansion of Virginia Hospital Center’s surgical department.

The J. Della Ratta Family Center for Surgery will help the Hospital continue to recruit and retain renowned surgical specialists and provide infrastructure and capacity, by furnishing the facilities, equipment and training to handle the most complex surgical procedures.

“Over the years, Virginia Hospital Center has been here for me and my family, providing the highest quality patient care,” said Mr. Della Ratta. “We are proud to support the surgical department in expanding its capacity to serve the needs of patients.”

“Mr. Della Ratta and his family have been longtime supporters of Virginia Hospital Center and we are most thankful to them for their continued investment in the health and well-being of our community,” said James B.
