Lifeline Emergency Response Program

Relish and prolong the independence of living at home. You can feel secure knowing that help is a 24 hour personal response and support service. The lightweight, waterproof help button works in tandem with a small device installed in your home. When you push the button, a Lifeline operator will alert a designated friend or family member that you need help, or will dispatch an emergency crew if necessary.

Virginia Hospital Center Senior Health Introduces Lifeline with AutoAlert

Lifeline with AutoAlert not only provides all of the benefits and functionality of our standard service, but it also provides subscribers with an added layer of protection. Lifeline with AutoAlert automatically places a call for help if a fall is detected and the subscriber cannot press his or her Personal Help Button (PHB) because they are disoriented, immobilized, or unconscious after a fall. Additionally, Lifeline with AutoAlert can help support earlier intervention in cases when someone falls, cannot get up from the fall, and chooses not to summon help immediately. Lifeline is the only medical alert service that offers the AutoAlert option.

Personal Experience:

Lifeline saves livesMy mother, who is 84 years old and still independent, had some fainting spells in late January. It was fortunate that family members were with her at the time, but the thought of what could have happened if she had been alone was terribly distressing. Two days later, we had the Lifeline medical alert set up in my mother's home. It is obvious that everyone at Virginia Hospital Center Lifeline strives to create a comforting, empowering experience for their subscribers. My mother recently shared with me that she no longer feels alone. — Carole M.

Virginia Hospital Center Lifeline Scholarship Fund

Many of the community's "at-risk" members are unable to afford the Philips Lifeline system. With this in mind, in 2009, Virginia Hospital Center's Senior Health Department in partnership with the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation, developed The Lifeline Scholarship Fund to help "in-need" seniors pay for Lifeline and remain in their homes with confidence and safety. Every contribution, regardless of size, makes a difference.

To make a tax deductible contribution to the Lifeline Scholarship Fund, please visit our on-line giving page and indicate LIFELINE in the gift designation box. You may also mail your contribution to:
