The DAISY AWARD for Extraordinary Nurses
The DAISY Award is an international program that provides the recognition and celebration of the clinical and professional care given by nurses every day. The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died from complications of an autoimmune disease. The family was awestruck by the care and compassion the nurses provided to Patrick and his entire family so they created the DAISY Foundation in his memory to recognize nurses who make a difference in other’s lives.
Virginia Hospital Center is proud to be a DAISY Award hospital partner, recognizing one nurse with this special honor each month.
These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence through clinical practice and extraordinary and compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
