Refunds are only given for medical reasons stated in a physician's note, or if classes are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, overbooked enrollment, or inclement wearther.
Virginia Hospital Center will be happy to accomodate class transfer requests 14 days prior to class date. All participants are entitled to ONE class transfer.
No repeated transfers will be allowed.

Breastfeeding 101 – the Basics
This 2 1/2 hour class prepares expectant couples with the essential foundations to get breastfeeding off to a good start. Topics will include: making milk, positioning, latching, and feeding your baby in the early weeks. Cost: $65.00 per couple.
Breastfeeding 102 – Beyond the Basics
Everything else you wanted to know about breastfeeding. In this 2 1/2 hour class, we will explore common breastfeeding concerns and solutions (sore nipples), managing your milk supply, diet, maternal illness, choosing a breast pump, bottle basics and returning to work. Cost: $65.00 per couple.
90 minute class to help expectant parents brush up on their breastfeeding skills. We will offer strategies for making the second time around even better.
Childbirth – One Day Class
This 8.5 hr one-day class for expectant parents covers pregnancy through the postpartum period. This class does not include Infant Care Skills. We suggest you wear comfortable clothing suitable for light activity. Tour included. Saturdays and Sundays. Cost: $170 per couple.
Childbirth – Three Week Class
This class contains all the same information as the 4 week or all day class. The class will be 3 hours per night from 6:30-9:30 pm. Mondays. Cost: $170.00 per couple.
Childbirth – Four Week Class
This four-session class for expectant parents covers pregnancy through the postpartum period, including breathing and relaxation techniques, Cesarean deliveries, medications and signs of labor. Tour included. This class is recommended for those who prefer to learn at a slower pace in a more intimate setting. Each class lasts for 2 hours. We suggest you wear comfortable clothing suitable for light activity. Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Cost: $170 per couple.
Childbirth – Express
This condensed 6 hour course covers signs of labor, stages of labor, the birth, medications, cesarean-and postpartum. Relaxation techniques will be introduced for you to practice at home. This class does NOT include a tour - you must register for a tour separately. Please feel free to bring a snack and drink to class and pack a lunch. No refrigeration provided. Cost: $170.00 per couple.
What grandparents should know about the newestmedical updates and safety issues. Long distance relationships discussed. Cost: $35 per person.
Hospital Tour for Expectant Parents
To include tours of labor and delivery (when available). Registration required. No children permitted. Sundays and Wednesdays. FREE.
Infant Care Skills
Learn how to care for your newborn during the first two weeks, including infant safety, sleep, diapering and bathing. This class includes a lecture. Thursdays and Sundays. Cost: $65 per couple.
Preparing for Cesarean
For families thinking about or planning a Cesarean. Addresses surgery, anesthesia, recovery and role of the support person. Tour included. Cost: $65 per couple.
This 1-hour interactive class helps your children, ages 2-3 (or 4-6), adjust to their mothers’ stay in the Hospital & the addition of a new sibling. Tour included. Saturdays and Sundays. Cost: $30 per child (additional children are $15 each).
It is time to introduce solids around 5-8 months. Many parents are overwhelmed at the prospect of when to start, what to offer, and how much to offer. This class will introduce the basics of complimentary foods based on recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Cost $45.00 per couple.
The More the Merrier
Class is designed for those expecting twins or triplets. Topics will include resources and how to prepare for multiples. Class taught by RN who has multiples. 2,5 hour class. Cost: $65.00 per couple.
Designed for the Mother desiring an unmedicated birth. Focus on breathing , relaxation and positioning. Tour included. Class from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Cost: $170.00 per couple.
