Physical Therapy for Falls Prevention

Problems with balance can arise as a complication of aging and from various medical conditions. Falls Prevention Physical Therapy focuses on decreasing your fall risk by assessing and treating your balance deficits, improving your ability to walk without loss of balance, and teaching you how to do your daily activities safely to minimize falls.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Dizziness is one of the most common reasons people seek medical attention. Dizziness can be the result of a number of conditions including damange to the vestibular system, loose calcium carbonate crystals in the inner ear, concussions, changes in blood pressure, imbalance, Migraine’s, Menier’s Disease, and anxiety. Vestibular rehabilitation is used in physical therapy to help the brain to function better to decreased dizziness and imbalance. Virginia Hospital Center offers therapists certified in vestibular rehabilitation.

  • Vestibular Hypofunction
  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
  • Concussion

  • Cervical dizziness

  • Please note that your physician's written order is required to use our services, and an additional authorization (referral) from your insurance company may be needed. Department hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm (6:00 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays).
