Virginia Hospital Center continues to be recognized for excellence in patient care. Here are a few of our latest achievements:
- Virginia Hospital Center’s Emergency Department received the Lantern Award from the Emergency Nurses Association, which recognizes a “commitment to quality, safety, a healthy work environment and innovation in nursing practice and emergency care.” This year, only nine hospitals nationwide met the stringent criteria for this honor.
- The Joint Commission recently recertified two programs at Virginia Hospital Center:
The Total Joint Replacement Program received the Gold Seal of Approval® from The Joint Commission for Joint Replacement (hip and knee) Certification. This is the second recertification for the Total Joint Replacement Program, and signifies the Program’s continued adherence to stringent national protocols for excellence in rehabilitation, pain management and nursing care.
- The Hospital’s Stroke Program has again earned the Gold Seal of Approval® as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission. This two-year recertification reflects the program’s rigorous standards and ongoing commitment to provide high quality, evidence- based care.
