| Bio: | Dr. Soofer joined the Pathology Department of Virginia Hospital Center in May 2000. She has a Bachelor of Arts with honors in Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville School in 1992, and was elected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Soofer moved to the Washington area for a pathology residency at the George Washington University, where she served a Chief Resident and completed a Fellowship in Surgical Pathology. She then pursued a Cytopathology Fellowship at George Washington University. Dr. Soofer became a Assistant Professor of Pathology at the George Washington University after completing her Cytopathology Fellowship, where remained until coming to Virginia Hospital Center.
Dr. Soofer is Board Certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty Boards in Cytopathology. She oversees Cytopathology and runs an active Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic at the Virginia Hospital Center, as well as signing out Surgical Pathology, and various duties in the Clinical Lab. She is on several Committees and is the Chairperson of the weekly Tumor Board Conference.
