| Bio: | After completing his BA in Biology at Lehigh University, Dr. Pappas earned his MD at Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in 1995. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing medicine for over 15 years. After finishing a four-year Internal Medicine residency at Case Western Reserve/University Hospitals of Cleveland, which included a year as chief resident, he joined the Saint Barnabas Medical Center in New Jersey, an affiliate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine as both Attending Physician and Assistant Program Director. He later worked in the same capacity at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School before going into practice in Virginia in 2004.
Within his specialty of Internal Medicine, Dr. Pappas in interested in wellness, nutrition, ancestral health, and optimal function. He is a member of The Institute of Functional Medicine, a transformative health care organization that seeks to shift the paradigm from organ-based diseases to functional dynamic systems.
He is married and has three children. He is originally from New Jersey and speaks Greek fluently.
