Medical Associates of Springfield-Burke’s Dr. Alton Tucker is a native of Virginia and has been in practice for more than 25 years. He is affectionately known as the “singing doc.” He received his bachelor’s degree from Hampton University and his master’s degree from Pennsylvania State University. After receiving his master’s degree from the Pennsylvania State University, he decided to enter the field of medicine and graduated with his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University. His residency in family practice brought him to Northern Virginia, where he completed his residency with Fairfax Family Practice. He remained in the area after his residency and became co-founder of Burke Family Practice, where he attended the medical needs of the residents in this area for many years. In 1998, Dr. Tucker began practicing medicine at the Virginia Family Practice Association in Fairfax, which later merged with a larger group. In 2001, he co-founded Springfield-Burke Family Practice and in 2009 became the sole owner of the practice and moved the corporation to its current location. In March 2012, Dr. Tucker joined Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group and his practice was renamed Medical Associates of Springfield-Burke. Dr. Tucker is board certified by The American Board of Family Practice.
