Jeanne Maguire, RN, MSN

Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer


In 2003, Jeanne Maguire, RN, MSN was promoted to Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President Patient Care Services of Virginia Hospital Center. In this role Ms. Maguire leads our Divisions of Nursing, Pharmacy, Education, Recruitment, and Cardio Pulmonary Services.

Prior to that, Ms. Maguire was Associate Vice President Patient Care Services for three years, where she was responsible for strategic planning and oversight for all Medical/Surgical units, Joint Replacement, Stroke, Ventilator, Critical Care, Telemetry, Hemodialysis, Emergency, Psychiatric Services, Pediatric/PICU and the Cancer Center. Ms. Maguire acted as a Clinical Director and Head Nurse for thirteen years at the Hospital. She also spent 11 years a staff nurse in Pediatrics and Medicine at the Hospital.

In addition to her extensive experience at Virginia Hospital Center, Ms. Maguire was a clinical lecturer at George Mason and Marymount Universities and is currently a Graduate Nurse Preceptor. She received Marymount University's Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award in 2001, was the Virginia Nurses Association Outstanding Nurse of the Year in 1988, and was listed in Who's Who in Nursing in 1987.

Ms. Maguire received her B.S.N. from Marymount University in 1985, her M.S.N. from Marymount University in 1987, and a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Management Program Certificate in 1994 from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and has been a past President of the Eta Alpha chapter at Marymount University.
