Vice President & Chief Nursing Officer
Darlene Vrotsos, RN, joined the Virginia Hospital Center staff in 2008 as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. In her role as Chief Nursing Officer, Ms. Vrotsos is responsible for supporting, upholding and implementing the Hospital's mission and vision throughout Patient Care Services. She develops patient care services goals, objectives, performance standards, policies and procedures in collaboration with the Hospital, medical staff and Board of Directors. She also functions in an advisory capacity to Hospital Administration in evaluating proposed procedural and organizational changes as they relate to patient care, and will ensure compliance with Standards of Nursing Practice that promote optimum healthcare delivery.
Prior to joining Virginia Hospital Center, Ms. Vrotsos served as the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Parma Community General Hospital in Parma, Ohio. While at Parma Community General Hospital, Ms. Vrotsos oversaw the development and implementation of the hospital's patient-centered focus, a re-engineering of the patient flow process, and restructuring of the clinical leadership. She also served as the Oncology Service Line Administrator and liaison to the Cleveland Clinic.
Ms. Vrotsos received her B.S. in Nursing from Ohio University in 1988 and her Master's from Case Western Reserve University School of Business Management. She is a member of both the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Ms. Vrotsos is also closely affiliated with the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and Relay for Life.
