Breast Health Coordinator

The Breast Health Coordinator provides complimentary education, moral support and other services to patients and their families throughout their breast health care continuum. In addition to being an educational resource, the Breast Health Coordinator accompanies patients to Women's Imaging and Nuclear Medicine to ensure that the patient receives needed attention and encouragement. The Breast Health Coordinator also visits patients pre- and post-procedure, covering all aspects of their surgical care: explaining all testing and procedures, monitoring pain management and providing expertise on the recovery process. In short, the Breast Health Coordinator provides:

  • Education, support and coordination to assist patients and their families
  • Informational resources on breast health, breast cancer and breast care
  • Communication between patients and healthcare providers
  • Streamlined services throughout the continuum of breast care

Jean T. Sullivan, Breast Health Coordinator

Jean Sullivan, RN, BSN, is Virginia Hospital Center's Breast Health Coordinator. Ms. Sullivan received her BSN from Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing in New York, New York. Her nursing career has included work in intensive care, medical/surgical nursing and as an instructor in nursing staff development. Ms. Sullivan joined the Hospital as the Breast Health Navigator in June 2008. She is a certified Breast Health Coordinator and a member of the Oncology Nurses Society.
