Dr. Reyes earned her undergraduate degree in Human Biology from Stanford and a Doctorate of Medicine from Harvard University. She completed her internship/residency in Ob/Gyn at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California and her Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship from the same institution. She is Board Certified in both Ob/Gyn and MFM.

Dr. Reyes has held past positions at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in LA and at The George Washington University in DC. Most recently, Dr. Reyes has been Associate Professor of Clinical Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at USC, where she was Director of Diabetes in Pregnancy, providing comprehensive care to women with complications of diabetes during pregnancy. Until joining Virginia Hospital Center, she was the principle investigator of the LA Best Babies Network, dedicated to improving the health and well-being of mothers, infants and families, overseeing a $28 million grant. Her primary research interests include maternal health care quality improvement, interconception care, and diabetes in pregnancy.

Dr. Reyes has earned numerous awards in recognition of her professional and community service, including the LA Medical Women's Association, LA County Board of Supervisors, California/Latino Medical Association, National Medical Fellowship Distinguished Alumni Award, and the National Hispanic Scholarship Leadership award. She was appointed as a Senior Scholar with the U.S. Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) dedicated to improving the quality of care for maternal health. In 2000, Dr. Reyes led the expert meeting on Maternal Health Care Quality, Utilization and Use: Developing a Research Agenda. She also led the development of a health services research agenda on intimate partner violence and received an AHRQ Director's Team Award.
